AMBER TECHNOLOGY WELCOMES ABB-free@home® TO THEIR PORTFOLIO

ABB and Amber Technology have expanded their distribution agreement to include ABB’s home automation solution, ABB-free@home®, to further develop Amber Technology’s offering in the residential and light commercial installer network.

ABB-free@home® is designed to transform any residence into a sophisticated smart home, offering seamless control over blinds, lights, heating, air conditioning, door communication, and customised scenes. Homeowners can effortlessly manage these systems using intuitive wall switches, laptops, or smartphones, enhancing comfort and energy efficiency while reducing costs compared to traditional electrical setups.

ABB-free@home® also offers utility beyond smart homes — with applications in light commercial projects including multi-dwelling units (MDUs) such as small condos, duplex units, or multiuse properties with a combination of business and residential, and smaller commercial projects such as NDIS and aged care residences, small venues, and boutique hotels.

All smart functions can be controlled via the ABB-free@home® Next app. With myBuildings remote access, users can connect the app to an ABB-free@home® system via the Internet, enabling convenient control from anywhere. Additionally, this remote connectivity allows installers to access client systems for troubleshooting and support, ensuring a seamless user experience.

Christian Schiemann, ABB Business Manager for Building and Home Automation Solutions[CS1] , commented “ABB is delighted to extend our partnership with Amber Technology to include the ABB-free@home® solution, further enhancing our offering in the residential sector. Amber’s expertise and market reach will play a key role in expanding the installer network, making ABB-free@home® the smart home solution of choice. We look forward to building on our existing successful collaboration with Amber Technology through the ABB i-bus® KNX offering.”

Nathan Brady, General Manager of Integrated Solutions at Amber Technology, stated, “Our residential installation team is thrilled to introduce the ABB-free@home® range to our customers, who specialise in residential and light commercial projects. As demand for smart home and small business solutions continues to grow, we see ABB-free@home® as an intuitive, future-ready platform that simplifies home automation without compromising functionality. Our partnership with ABB allows us to offer homeowners and installers a sophisticated, scalable solution that integrates seamlessly with modern residential and light commercial environments.
